Choose a replacement that works for everyday life
How many teeth are missing matters, but so do the health of your mouth, how you want to care for a restoration and the cost of treatment. These are the decisions behind the procedure names.
Close a gap with a bridge
A dental bridge replaces one or more missing teeth, with support from neighboring teeth or implants. A fixed bridge stays in place rather than coming out at home. It can help restore a more complete chewing surface while filling a visible gap.
Replace several teeth or a full arch
A partial denture replaces some missing teeth while natural teeth remain. A full denture replaces all teeth in an upper or lower arch. Conventional dentures are removable for cleaning and offer a way to replace multiple teeth with one restoration.
If you already wear dentures, tell us what is difficult about them. Fit, comfort and the way they function are useful starting points for an evaluation.
Consider support from implants
Implant-supported restorations use dental implants as a foundation. Denture designs can be removable or fixed, with different daily cleaning routines. Greater stability may be a reason to consider implant support; your oral health and preferences guide the choice.
Restorative interests backed by local planning resources
Our Atlantic Boulevard team includes Dr. Firdose Basha, whose clinical interests encompass dentures, dental implants and complex restorative treatment, and Dr. Kendall Frazier, an Implant Pathway fellow. Those backgrounds are relevant when your questions go beyond simply filling a gap to how a replacement will fit into your overall dental care.
The office’s technology resources include 3D cone-beam imaging. When appropriate, detailed views of the jaw and nearby structures can support implant evaluation and planning.
Explore your tooth-replacement options. An examination gives your dentist the information needed to recommend a direction that fits your mouth and your priorities.
Keep a damaged tooth when restoration is appropriate
Not every restorative concern calls for tooth replacement. A dental crown covers an existing tooth to help restore its strength, shape and appearance. If enough healthy structure remains, it may offer a way to keep a damaged tooth functioning. A crown can also form the visible tooth on a dental implant.
At your visit, the dentist evaluates the teeth you have, the spaces you want to fill and any current restorations. You’ll review suitable options, the steps involved and how to look after the result. Expected costs belong in the same conversation; our Jacksonville financing and insurance information is a useful place to begin preparing.
